Week 1 (and a bit)

So I’ve had my first 3 sessions and there is so much to learn. And when you think you’ve learned it, you have to produce it when you’re blowing out of your arse. And if you don’t, you get punched in the face. So all good fun.

The thing that surprised me most is the fitness. 3 rounds of 2 minutes doesn’t sound that long, until you have to do it! A lot of my training is now focused on that time pattern and I’ve even started doing cardio, so that should let you know how seriously I’m taking this! Lucky I’ve also found a boxing timer app that I can preprogram with my round length and rest time, so that keeps me honest deep into the later sets!

(Above: me after my second training session. Decided vests were definitely the way to go!)

On the fundraising side, thank you so much to everyone who has donated and promised to donate. We’ve already nearly hit my minimum donation required, but I’m hoping we can raise much more than that. The link to do so is here so please donate for Cancer Research UK.

Onto tickets. I’d love to have as many people as possible at this event. I’ve got 10 VIP tickets for £50pp which includes a meal and table service during the fights. I’ve also got 10 standard tickets (as above) at £20pp for entry – although I can easily get more of these. A lot of people have said they want to come along, so I’ll be bugging you all for ticket money shortly!

Thank you for reading this far (if anyone is!) and thank you everyone for all your support, be it a donation, coming to support me on the night or just a friendly word. It all means a lot to me.
